Delicious Classic tiramisu recipe

Tiramisu is one on of the most popular Italian’s dessert in the world. This is elegant with a layering of bold espresso and also cocoa, creamy mascarpone, sweet Marsala wine, and delicate ladyfingers.

This cake is a low-density sponge cake, almost like a cookie. The ladyfingers are classic Italian treats that are briefly soaked in an espresso and sugar mixture until it becomes soft.

They are layered with a mixture of mascarpone cheese and also zabaione. Zabaione or zabaglione is a traditional custard that is made with egg, Marsala wine, and sugar until they come together to create a creamy filling.

The Ingredients

There are some ingredients to make classic tiramisu that you should prepare.

  • 300 grams Savoiardi or Ladyfingers.
  • 500 grams or 2 1/4 cups of mascarpone cheese.
  • 4 medium eggs.
  • 100 grams or about 1/2 cup of granulated sugar.
  • 300 ml or about 1 1/4 of espresso coffee.
  • 2 tablespoons of Marsala Wine.
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder.

How to Make It

After all the ingredients are completed, now you can start to make a classic tiramisu recipe.

Firsty, make the coffee first. Add 2 tablespoons of rum and Marsala Wine. This is optional, you don’t have to use it.

Next, you should separate the egg white. Remember to whip egg whites to stiff peaks. Make sure that no trace of yolk is left.

After that, beat the egg yolks with sugar in a bowl until it get light and smooth. You have to do this around 3 to 5 minutes.

Port the mascarpone cheese into a bowl. You can start to work it with a spoon to make it softer. You can add the mascarpone cheese if the yolks are ready.

Start to whip the mascarpone cream slowly and add the stiffly beaten egg whites. You can use the flexible edge stirrer so it will be easier.

Mix with a wooden spoon from bottom up and mix slowly until it is smooth and creamy. After that, dip the ladyfingers quickly into coffee.

Arrange them so they will cover the bottom of the casserole and spread the mascarpone cream over the top. Add another layer of ladyfingers and then top it with more mascarpone cream.

Finally, sprinkle it with cocoa powder. You can also add dark chocolate chips if you like to make your classic tiramisu recipe even better.
